Our story
A small, focused web app for building printable English word search puzzles — because teachers and families still need paper bell work every week without paying for a subscription.
Classroom first
Built for bell work, sub folders, and vocabulary review — not generic word-game apps.
Print-ready
Warm paper tones, high-contrast grids, and browser PDF export that survives school copiers.
Free to start
Make puzzles, browse Puzzle Common, and export PNGs without a subscription for core workflows.
Paste or type a word list, load a school-friendly topic preset, or (optionally) describe a theme and let an AI model suggest vocabulary. The builder places words in eight directions and fills empty cells with letters from your list so the whole grid stays readable. You can download a PNG or print directly.
We also ship Puzzle Common — 50 pre-generated puzzles — so you can grab a page in seconds when the copier line is long and the block is short.
AI word suggestions only run when you configure an OpenAI API key on your own deployment. If the key is missing, the site falls back to curated English word lists so the experience still works in classrooms that cannot use external AI services.
We use warm paper-like backgrounds, high-contrast grids, and readable sans-serif body text because those choices survive photocopying and projectors better than trendy dark themes or neon gradients. Puzzles use uppercase letters to match how many early literacy materials present the alphabet.
Our mission
